Become a Member of ON/NO
The information on this page applies only to applicants for a new membership (that is, persons who have never held an ON/NO membership). Current members and former members whose membership has expired should see the Renew Your Membership page.
Notice
Membership services such as issuing new memberships and renewing existing memberships are currently available only at swims and certain other events as ON/NO is not holding in-person meetings at the present time.

Notes:
1 The membership year runs from September 1 to August 31 of the following year.
2 Memberships issued from September 1 to March 31 are valid for the current membership year. Memberships issued from April 1 to August 31 are valid for both the current membership year (a bonus included at no charge) and the following membership year.
3 A couple is defined as two adults. A membership (individual or couple) includes dependent children under 18 years of age.
Application Process
ON/NO’s membership requirements are explained on the Membership in ON/NO page. The information below explains the membership application process which involves four steps:
- application
- interview
- payment
- approval
1. Application
You must apply for membership in ON/NO at an in-person event and may do so at any of the events listed below:
- a swim. See the ON/NO Event Schedule for dates and times and contact membership@onno.ca to obtain the location of the swim you wish to attend.
- the annual BBQ held in July at one of the local naturist parks (see the ON/NO Event Schedule for details). As an ON/NO member, your meal at the BBQ will be free.
In advance of your first event, we suggest you download a Membership Application Form (which is in fillable PDF format), fill the form electronically, and bring it with you to the event. If you do not have the necessary PDF software, you can download the free Adobe Reader.
Note: You will likely need to download the form to a PC and fill it out using a standalone PDF Reader or Editor app. We are aware that the form does not work in most PDF apps on Android phones and tablets nor in most PDF browser extensions on PCs. We have not tested it on Apple devices.
While we accept manually-filled forms and even make blank forms available to be filled out at events, we do greatly appreciate when applicants fill the form electronically in advance as this both speeds up the application process at events and enhances the legibility of the information on the form.
Guidelines for completing the Membership Application Form
- If applying as an Individual, fill in the Member 1 area; if applying as a Couple, fill in both the Member 1 and Member 2 areas.
- M(an)/W(oman)/X (other): provide your gender self-identification
- Legal ID Name (required): name exactly as shown on your government issued photo ID
- Photo ID Type (required): enter only the type of ID; e.g., “driver’s licence (Quebec)” or “health card (Ontario)”, do not enter personal information such as driver’s licence number or health card number
- Alternate Name (optional): you may provide an alternate name (such as a nickname or preferred name) to be used on ON/NO membership cards and/or correspondence
- Name to use on membership card (optional): default is Legal Name
- Name to use on correspondence (optional): default is Legal Name
- Address (required): your mailing address
- Children under 18 (required only if they will be attending events): provide name and age of child
- Naturist Affiliations (optional): provide name(s) of other naturist clubs or organizations to which you belong
- Telephone number (optional): only to be used for urgent communications
- Communications preferences (required): indicate which ON/NO communications you wish to receive and through which method you wish to receive them
- Email (required if you wish to receive communications from ON/NO via email)
- Payment Method (required)
- Date and Signature (required): each adult associated with the membership is to sign certifying that the information provided is correct and signifying their acceptance of the terms and conditions of ON/NO membership
Step 2: Interview
You will be asked a few questions to determine your level of knowledge and experience with respect to the practice of naturism and to gauge your suitability for membership in ON/NO. Also, at this time, your government-issued photo ID will be verified. ON/NO keeps a record only of the type of photo ID presented and the name shown on the photo ID.
Step 3: Payment
You may pay using cash, cheque, or debit (the latter option may not be available at all events).
Step 4: Approval
You will receive a provisional membership card. Once you have satisfied the requirements for full membership (see Membership in ON/NO), your provisional membership card will be replaced with a permanent membership card.
